Finomics 101 is about making seemingly complex concepts in finance and economics understandable by the regular person who does not have a degree in either discipline, but really wants to understand how his or her life is affected (or not) by financial and / or economic policy announcements.
You wonder why I consider myself the appropriate translator? It is because (1) I have excellent academic qualifications (think First Class degrees, Dean’s List, etc :-)) in Economics, IT, Finance, Operations Research, and Management; (2) I have worked in IT, business consulting, financial advisory, interest rate derivatives sales, and investment banking; and (3) I am a CFA Charterholder.
I hope each post ignites a light bulb and makes you say “Got it! So, that’s what they’ve been trying to say…”
Thanks for stopping by.
